On December 30th 2011 Perondia community with the support of the Mayor of commune Mr. Rexhep Hajdari and other local authorities organized a ceremony to recognize Heifer support for farmer’s families with dairy cows and alpine goats in years. Participants in this ceremony included Minister of Innovation and Communication of Albania Mr. Genc Pollo, Local Authorities, and Deputies of the commune. Read More

Heifer Albania joins network against poverty in Albania
The common mission against poverty gathered representatives of fifteen national and international organizations in Albania in a joint initiative for a stronger cooperation and coordination in this country. The roundtable for anti-poverty network, facilitated by Heifer Albania, provided an opportunity for organizations and institutions to exchange ideas and discuss on future collaboration in common actions against poverty and social exclusion. Heifer Albania staff celebrated 100th anniversary of Women’s Day
In commemoration to the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day, Heifer Albania staff celebrated with women’s groups from different communities of Albania, as Urucaj, Xibrake, Shalsi and Lolaj communities. Sixty women joined this special event in March 8th. The ceremony was opened with a speech from Margarita Urucaj, a very active farmer in Urucaj community, who thanked Heifer Albania for the great opportunities it has continuously provided to them.
